Lagos set to host 5th IoT West Africa summit in April

Stakeholders will gather at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, from April 28 to 30, 2026, for the fifth edition of IoT West Africa, alongside Power & Water Nigeria and Data Centre & Cloud Expo Africa.

IoT West Africa, regarded as the continent’s longest-running digital infrastructure event, has played a central role in tracking and shaping West Africa’s technology ecosystem. This year’s co-located events are expected to bring together players across artificial intelligence, cloud computing, telecommunications, fintech, renewable energy, and data centre development.

Nigeria’s fast-expanding digital infrastructure ecosystem will take centre stage later this month as global technology firms, telecom operators, and policymakers converge in Lagos for a major industry event.

With companies such as Microsoft, Google, and Amazon Web Services deepening investments in African cloud regions, and telecom giants like MTN and Airtel scaling network infrastructure, the country is witnessing one of the fastest digital build-outs on the continent.

The expansion is further supported by public sector interventions, including efforts by the Rural Electrification Agency to strengthen power supply, as well as growing enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence across sectors such as banking, logistics, and public services.

Focus on critical infrastructure

Discussions at the three-day event will centre on critical infrastructure underpinning Nigeria’s digital economy, including national grid resilience, fibre networks, subsea cables, and edge computing systems.

Organisers say the platform provides a rare opportunity for hyperscale cloud operators, rural electrification agencies, 5G network providers, and policymakers to engage directly on investment, regulation, and infrastructure development.

A key highlight of this year’s edition is a strategic partnership with the Africa Data Centres Association, aimed at deepening conversations around cross-border connectivity, data centre investments, and regional digital integration.

Top industry leaders expected

Confirmed speakers include Abba Aliyu, Emomotimi Agama, and Christopher Ezeafulukwe, alongside executives from global and regional technology firms.

The event is expected to attract over 5,000 participants, including chief information officers, chief technology officers, investors, regulators, and hyperscale operators.

Exhibitors will include companies such as Vertiv and Jubaili Bros, while side attractions feature a startup pitch competition, a VIP networking lounge, and a live podcast series.
