Accelerate, a digital lifestyle and entertainment platform powered by Access Bank, has launched Accelerate Plus, a premier subscription video-on-demand platform to promote African movies.

The Chief Executive Officer at Accelerate, Mrs Colette Otusheso, made this known on Friday during the launch of Accelerate Plus in Lagos.

Otusheso said that the platform would redefine global misconceptions about Africa by projecting original African content.

She said the platform, which includes fans’ favourites like The Shade Corner, Visa on Arrival, and The Olive, among others, was set to feature an ensemble of carefully curated high-quality African content available on mobile device.

Otusheso said, “Accelerate Plus is more than a platform for African content for us. It serves as a catalyst for highlighting and promoting an undiluted African narrative in the face of global misconceptions.”

She said that deliberate steps were taken to curate authentic and exciting content for Africa by Africans, as well as a portal for the rest of the world to access premium African content from anywhere in the world.

She said: “Accelerate is committed to the development and support of African filmmakers and the creative industry.

“We are encouraging African filmmakers and content creators to collaborate with us to bring this vision to life.

"Accelerate Plus is a diverse and affordable streaming platform that celebrates Africa’s beauty, richness, and nuances.

“We are determined to create a hub of positive entertainment and empowering content where diverse stories and experiences are told and shared to spark meaningful and transformative conversations, with the Accelerate Plus platform.”

Otusheso said Accelerate Plus was both convenient and affordable, especially because of its unbeatable subscription fees.

She said payments could be made from anywhere in the world, and any device could connect to a world of exclusive African entertainment – PC, mobile or tablet.

“The subscription packages are broken down into annual and monthly subscriptions with an option for auto-renewal.

“If you live within Nigeria and have an Access Bank account, you can subscribe for N100 monthly and non-Access Bank account holders N500.

“However, you must register and subscribe at www.accelerateplus.tv before you download the app from the iOS app store and google play store and sign in for this to apply,” Otusheso said. (NAN)
