Despite facing economic hurdles, MTN Nigeria reaffirms its commitment to investing in the country and its communities.

In the first quarter of this year, the telecommunications giant is renewing 52 basic health clinics across Nigeria as part of its dedication to supporting national priorities and fostering sustainable societies.

This initiative aligns with the memorandum of agreement between the MTN Nigeria Foundation and the Private Sector Health Alliance, aiming to enhance healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.

MTN Nigeria CEO, Karl Toriola, announced the launch of the second phase of the Y'ellopreneur project, an MTN Foundation initiative targeting the reduction of women's unemployment in Nigeria.

Toriola stated, "The curriculum provides intense business training to 1000 female entrepreneurs and offers a N3 million loan to 150 participants, fostering entrepreneurship. The Foundation has launched a fellowship programme to provide instructors with skills to increase student learning."

He further mentioned the company's support for Nigerian youth through the Digital Skills for Digital Jobs platform, which currently has 580 enrolled participants.

Additionally, MTN Nigeria is contributing to sports development by sponsoring MTN CHAMPS in partnership with the Sports Media and Management company, Making of Champions.

Toriola explained, "This initiative aims to inspire young athletes, encourage participation in athletics, and ultimately contribute to the growth of sports. Over 7,000 athletes from 375 schools in Nigeria participated in a successful season one, while season two is already underway and open to all budding athletes across the continent."
