Global technology company Zoho has partnered with Babcock University through the Babcock Centre for Executive Development (BCED) to train students in low-code application development, as part of its effort to boost digital skills and innovation among young Nigerians.

The training, conducted under Zoho’s Young Creators Program, saw more than 50 students from various disciplines—including Computer Science, Business, and Information Technology—learn how to design and build business-ready applications using Zoho Creator, the company’s low-code development platform. The three-day workshop focused on practical problem-solving through cloud technology, enabling students to create custom digital solutions without advanced coding experience.

Speaking on the collaboration, Kehinde Ogundare, Country Head of Zoho Nigeria, said the initiative reflects Zoho’s commitment to nurturing local tech talent. “Through the Young Creators Program, we aim to empower young innovators to build solutions that solve real business challenges while strengthening the local technology ecosystem,” he said.

The partnership also signals the start of a broader collaboration between Zoho and BCED, with plans to roll out more training sessions, interactive workshops, and innovation-focused events. Discussions are ongoing to integrate Zoho’s suite of business applications into Babcock’s entrepreneurship curriculum, helping students apply digital tools to real-world business challenges.

According to Dr. Ayodeji Ajibade, Director of the Babcock Entrepreneurship Development Centre (BEDC), the collaboration aligns with the university’s mission to prepare students for leadership in a rapidly evolving digital economy. “Partnering with Zoho strengthens our mission by providing students with access to industry-standard tools and practical learning experiences that bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world application,” he said.

Launched in 2022, Zoho’s Young Creators Program is a global initiative designed to promote digital literacy and innovation among young people. The program has so far trained more than 2,000 students worldwide, equipping them with the skills and confidence to pursue careers and entrepreneurial opportunities in technology.
