OPPO unveils agenda for Nigerian market

Global smartphone manufacturer, OPPO, has announced plans to revolutionise the mobile market in Nigeria with its range of smartphones. According to the company, the phones were designed specifically to meet the needs of Nigerians

OPPO which is ranked 4th fastest selling mobile brand in the world by IDC said its array of devices would be unveiled in the country in the coming months. Speaking at press briefing in Lagos, the Marketing Manager of OPPO Mobile Nigeria, Nengi Akinola, said the company would be bringing the same products that have gained acceptability globally to Nigeria and it would be the same quality. She added that that the phones would meet the needs of Nigerians, specifically in the area of power supply.

“We don’t just manufacture phones, we look at what the people need and we address the needs with our phones. This is why we have come to Nigeria with our fast-charging phones. The phones are designed with cutting edge technologies that allow your battery to be fully charged in just 15 minutes” Akinola said. She added that the company would be collaborating with all stakeholders in the mobile market to push its products to the market.

Also speaking, OPPO Marketing Director, Lily Wang, said the company would be bringing a lot of innovative products that would disrupt the market. She added that the devices would also have socio-economic impacts in the country. According to her, the company’s brand promise is “to be consistent, truthful and transparent in all its dealings”.

Highlighting some of the global achievements of the brand, Wang said OPPO was the first mobile brand in the world to launch smartphones with 5MP and 16MP front cameras. “OPPO was also the first mobile brand in the world to introduce the motorized rotating camera, the Ultra HD feature and the 5x Dual Camera Zoom technology. OPPO's Selfie Expert F series launched in 2016 drove a selfie trend in the world” she said.
